Welcome to annie's Pottery!  Annie creates exquisite, durable and functional stoneware pottery.  She takes pride in each piece, whether it is a functional form like the Olive Oil Jug (right) or a one-of-a-kind creation for your gallery.

The Punch Pitcher is a beautiful combination of function and form.  The large pitcher swivels on the stand, allowing you to pour every drop into the matching cups without lifting a heavy pitcher.  The PUNCH PITCHER  (right) is an example of the one-of-a-kind pieces that Annie loves to make.  See the One-of-a-kind page for other examples.

The Firing Was Good and Bad
The kiln slightly underfired.  That resulted in things having more space and air around them fired fine, but the things that were closed in with shelves underfired and the glazes did not get glossy.  As you can see, the dough bowl turned out somewhat cloudy because of this.  I can refire that one.  The good news is that the stand holding up the large wine right worked like a charm.  That piece piece had plenty of air and fired out to perfection.

Started Firing in Small Kiln
I started the firing containing the Greek wine jug (on it's new stand) last night.  I'm anxious to see how it turns out.   The firing went some 10 hours, but the kiln sitter fell before completion.  That is usually a sign of a good firing.  The temperature showed 2070 and falling fast this morning at 6:45.  I'll open the kiln in the morning.

Glazing Today
Laughing I'm working on a large Greek-style wine ring for a friend.  I had to make a stand to hold it up during firing because it does not have a foot.  I am also working on some additional horse designs for an order of soup mugs.
